I have spent lots of time with these verses. We all have experienced the loss of loved ones and beloved pets. These verses have brought me comfort during those times. One time especially was the death of my Grandpa. We were not with him when he passed and at first I was so upset that he was alone when he died. This verse came to my mind as I was wrestling with my thoughts and gave me great comfort.
I’m not sure what my grandfather needed as he passed. I would expect he should have his family surrounding him but maybe that would have been distracting. Maybe he would have been focused on us.
My grandfather was a faithful friend of Jesus so I have great comfort in knowing his focus could fully be on the one who was with him when he died, the one he will spend eternity with.
