The prompt for the day was throw. The day before the kids and I had made a large pile of leaves for our puppy to jump in. He absolutely loved finding the kids and chasing leaves.
Usually when I draw I have lots of colors and layers to show shadow and light. Using ink was proving to be difficult, or at least a new challenge for me.

I find drawing feelings or concepts you can’t hold or see hard. Today’s word was hope, and I had to sit on it for a while. I think I had about 10 sketches of different ideas before I settled on this drawing.
My inspiration was from Jesus words to us in John 15:4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you, No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. There is no better hope than the hope Jesus gives us. In Ezekiel it says God gives us a new heart and removes our heart of stone. A new heart is something I can really relate to. So many people in my family have physically needed their hearts mended and fixed because of heart conditions we were born with. I have witnessed life given to strangers because of a new heart that was physically put in their bodies. We all are in need of spiritually having our hearts mended and receiving a new heart. We all have heartache and spiritually defective hearts. Jesus gives us a new heart when we receive his love. Our hearts begin to love what he loves and desire what he desires we begin to reflect his life. He mends our broken hearts and gives us new life.
My hope is in Jesus, what he says is true, he will give us a new heart and he will keep us.

The prompt for today was disgusting. I know this is controversial and it needs to be said upfront that Jesus is a merciful and is generous to forgive and like I said above died to mend broken hearts. However nothing is as disgusting as the killing of the innocent. Of people who reflect the image of God you, me, old, young, healthy, sick, male, female, of any race, the unborn. Nothing as sad as when doctors who are to mend and do no harm aim their instrument so destroy and stoping a heart is the goal. We have no need to sacrafice unborn children to gain freedom, life, and equality. Jesus was the willing sacrafice for our freedom, our good, and equality. We all would like to think we would stand with innocent people who are being mass destroyed just for being who they are, but like all the times in history when you do this it’s unpopular and controversial. People may even hate you because of it. I had many reservations about drawing this but I hope the drawing is enough to at least start a conversation where hopefully the love and forgiveness and sacrafice Jesus made for us can be shared.
